YESTERDAY, ALL MY TROUBLES SEEMED SO FAR AWAY: So, there was a presidential election here in the States yesterday.
It didn't turn out like we expected. Or like any of the pollsters or pundits expected.
Today, our family talked about the myriad of reasons for the surprise outcome. Michael Moore was one of the few people in the world who saw this coming. His explanation is worth a a read.
Naturally, we also talked about the electoral college, and how it can be that a person wins the popular.majority vote, but they don't win the election.
IN HAPPIER NEWS: On Annabelle's birthday a couple of weeks ago, we stopped in to a favorite restaurant, LunchBox Laboratory, for dinner.
Annabelle's always looking for a coloring sheet/kids' menu when we go out, and that evening she entered a coloring contest.
She only had four rather crappy wax crayons to work with (red, blue, yellow and green), but she managed to produce this.
A few days ago, we received an email letting us know she was the winner of the coloring contest.
She was expecting a t-shirt or something as her prize. Imagine how thrilled she was to get this ...
Needless to say, she was quite pleased. :)
