White Stuff

FLAKE-Y:  "Winter" came early to Seattle. Snow!

Last night, as we retired, it was snowing pretty steadily.
And this morning, rooftops in our neighborhood were all blanketed with white ... as were the streets, which meant school delays or closures for many a happy student.
We figured it was a good day to decorate the vintage aluminum tree. Its branches were bare this morning.

We loved these photos from the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks as the snow fell last night.
The view toward the railroad bridge never looked prettier! The photos were taken by Lock and Dam Operator Mike Vigil, and posted to the Locks' Facebook page.

Last night, the kids had a dance at their school. We took some treats - little cups of cheer.

No baking involved, they're just marshmallows for the mugs, some food coloring painted on for the designs, candy cane tops for the handles, chocolate frosting for the hot cocoa, marshmallow bits for the marshmallows, and they're sitting atop thin Oreos. Easy!
