WINGING AWAY: Thursday, we got to take a whirlwind tour through The Museum of Flight. We had family visiting, and our guests included a three year old. It was super fun to experience the museum along with him, as the perspective was largely about "What can we *do*?" instead of the usual "What do we see?"
So, because time was limited, we skipped the World War I and II wings, where you really can't climb on the aged warplanes. Instead, we checked out the really cook kiddo zone, where you could sit in a couple of real live petite aircraft. And we visited the fighter planes in the Great Gallery where a person can climb into the cockpit. And we played outdoors in the airpark. Big fun!
Friday morning, we hit Kubota Garden, not to far from the MPA 'campus.' It was fun strolling through there with someone who knew the names of the plants. :)
For instance, we learned that this beauty is purple Cleome. Apparently they're also called 'spider flowers.'Fall is on display at the Japanese garden right now.
I loved this heart-shaped puddle in a boulder along a pathway.
Back at home, we worked on building a better mouse trap.
We were super thrilled when our trap actually worked - repeatedly, even!
Friday afternoon, we headed to Seattle Center. There, we marveled at the H2O show at the International Fountain, and hung out on the fantastic playground just west of MoPOP. We also eyed the Needle, of course.
We were very fortunate to have such great weather for our special guests' visit!
Just to give you an idea of the scale, the board measures 47-by-47 inches.
