We were tossing the disc at Campbell Hill Elementary, which just a few blocks from our place. As we walked the campus for the very first time, we were surprised at how big it was. We were also surprised to find a pair of enormous antennas.
The photo doesn't really give a good sense of just how huge these things are. Christian tried to find some information about them online, but he came up empty. I'm sure someone in the neighborhood knows something, so I'll do a little more digging.
SEASON'S GREETING: Every year for nearly 20 years now, receiving a holiday card from our artistic friend Glenn (my former editor) has been a holiday tradition. His card was in our mailbox a couple of days ago. Last year, Annabelle hand drew a card for Glenn, which would up on his refrigerator - such a place of honor!
I told Annabelle Glenn would adore a card from her again this year, so she has been working on it. Glenn recently adopted a pair of cats (a mother and a daughter), so Annabelle is basing her design on the cute kitties.
We piloted the Honda to the post, expecting to see people serving up food outside on the sunny morning. Instead, there was one gentleman in the parking lot talking to someone(s) in a car. The parking lot guy's mask was on his chin. Hmm. We sat and debated for a moment or two whether or not to get out of the car. There was *definitely* no way we were going into that building for breakfast.
I pointed out that we should at least drop off the toys. It looked like there were donations bins by the front door. So Christian put his mask on and carried the toys over. Fortunately, Parking Lot Guy pulled his mask up. Christian asked about the breakfast and the gentleman said they were cooking inside and would bring a couple of breakfasts out. The kids had choice between pancakes or biscuits and gravy. They both went with the flapjacks. About four minutes later, a woman brought boxes out for them. They happily gobbled it all up when we got home.
The card for Glenn definitely deserves posting.
